Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American screen and stage actress best well-known for her films on the film Ray Undercover Brother and on the tv show The Mentalist. She graduated with a BA in Brown University in African-American Studies. In the Tisch school of the arts, New York University she earned an MFA. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer active in the fields of theater, film and TV. She began her career as an actor in theater before going on to appear in many television shows, both mainstream and independent films. The actress was famous for her role in the role of Miranda Shaw (ABC's Quantico) and on BET's huge The Book of Negroes. Both series received major praise from critics, and she also took home a variety of accolades. In 1995 she made her acting debut with The Tempest as Ariel. Her stage credits are Come and Gone Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production of Joe Turner. Her film career is highlighted through her appearances as a character in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. Her work in television she has been praised for her part as a regular character on ABC's police drama High Incident.
